The travelling plants I have encountered over the past three years are native to Abya Yala. Over the last century and a half, their relationships with the globalised world have become increasingly intricate and problematic.

These plants share a capacity to grow in intensely sunny climates and poor or degraded soils, while nurturing worlds in the broadest sense of the word. They sustain complex forms of life, including the human peoples who live with them. They also share another characteristic: people refer to them as sacred plants.

The trilogy brings together three encounters with Agave, Coca and Yuca Brava, and the different territories, communities, practices, technologies and forms of life connected to them.

Rather than seeking a formula for approaching plants, the project explores an affective movement that allows us to discover what can be done through the encounter itself.

The three processes have involved experimentation, research, movement, writing, drawing, making and transmission, taking different forms as installations, performances, films and publications.
