Phytophilia_chlorophobia_Situated knowledge
Exhibition and weekend of dance and performance at Transpalette and antre-peaux, Bourges 2019-2020

Communicating with plants, updating our relationship with witchcraft, inventing eco-technical systems where humans become superfluous, dancing with phytoplankton, planting herbicide-resistant gardens, or virtual trees to offset the CO2 footprint of our digital lives, performing the sick body with organ or molecular transplants, or even materializing hyper-toxic green pigments—far removed from images of idealized pastoral nature…
The artists in the exhibition OU\ /ERT engage physically with plants and other symbiotic creatures. Interspecies alliances challenge anthropocentric pretensions in an age of pervasive greenwashing. Distrusting superficial green metaphors, the OU\ /ERT artists emphasize the importance of situated knowledge, linked to chlorophyll organisms essential to all other forms of life.
